Hey-o! Just adding my 2 cents in here becaise I am about to be a wheelchair user myself.
The reality is- I ‘can’ walk. My Doctors genuinely aren’t sure how, as I have 5 herniated discs and a legion on our lower spine. I am 'able to walk, but it’s agony if I have to walk any more than about 20 steps. It’s very hard to move day to day. So I will be using a wheelchair as there is never any hope of us getting better. I use it to make my life easier because life shouldn’t have to be harder for us just because we were injured.
It’s the same annoying reaction as when people give us a dirty look for taking a motorized cart at 32. Because our injury asked our age, right??
Anyways if you’re the kind of person that makes assumptions about people with mobility aids without any information? Kindly leave our page. Actually, leave society in general. No one needs to be judged for making life easier for themselves.
